Bertrand Chamayou dives into a busy summer schedule over July and August with concerts and festivals in Norway, England, France, Germany and on the Amalfi Coast.

He begins his summer tour north of the Arctic Circle on the Islands of Norway, as Artistic Director of the Lofoten Piano Festival 9-15 July.  There, he joins Leif Ove Andsnes, Lise de la Salle, the Engegard Quartet, Oslo Camerata and several other renowned soloists for a week of chamber music and piano recitals in an exceptional natural setting.

Then it’s on to less-chilly London for his BBC Proms debut with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at Royal Albert Hall on 20 July, in Mendelssohn’s brilliant First Piano Concerto.

Chamayou is soloist at the Festival Radio France on 22 July in Montpellier, performing Ravel’s Concerto in D Major for the Left Hand.

He is once again skybound at the Festival Musique Sur Ciel at Cordes sur Ciel in the south of France, not far from his native Toulouse, 23-25 July.

A solo recital follows at France’s piano Mecca, the Festival International de Roque d’Anthéron, on 29 July; another solo open air appearance follows on the Côte d’Azur for the Festival de Menton.

He returns to Norway in August, this time for the Rosendal Chamber Music Festival; then another highlight of the summer festival route: opening night at the Beethovenfest Bonn, on 31 August, will feature Chamayou as soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (to be broadcast live). Of all the things to play at the inaugural concert of the Beethoven Festival, he chose Saint-Saëns.
